Deep Valley Collaboration

A collaboration from Stefano (Steve) and Marco Lubiana with fruit sourced from vineyards in the Huon Valley and Granton (Derwent Valley).

2022 Deep Valley Huon Pinot Noir: Black sandy loam over white hard clay; unfiiltered and unfined; organic viticulture; mostly de-stemmed whole berries with 5-10% whole bunch; maturation in old oak and stainless steel.

Michele's notes: Deep, rich colour. Brooding and very interesting nose - earthy/meaty/leather over satsuma plum, briary fruits and dark red roses. It is a nose to delve into! Ripe, dark fruits are dominant on the palate; not at all cloying but quite juicy and fresh. This is a fascinating and complex wine that will delight pinot lovers.

2022 Deep Valley Chardonnay: Fruit comes from the gravelly loams on the original Lubiana vineyard at Granton, north of Hobart. Organic viticulture, maturation in new and old oak, minimal battonage to preserve freshness.
