Bremley 2023 Pinot Noir
Winery : Bremley
WINNER 2024 Australian Pinot Noir Challenge
Bremley is the northern-most vineyard in the Coal River Valley. Originally planted with two hectares of Chardonnay in the early 2000s, the current custodians, James and Vanessa Bresnehan, have added Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc and Gamay to the mix, bringing the vineyard to 13Ha. For several years the Bresnehans sold fruit to other producers but in recent vintages have produced wines under their own Bremley label. Justin Bubb and Anna Pooley are the winemakers.
Michele's notes: Deeply hued, promising the richness and depth to come. A heady nose of plum, violet, blood sausage with hints of olive tapenade and pepper – all very intriguing. The bouquet develops beautifully in the glass – warm notes of Christmas cake and spice drift through.
Deliciously rich on the palate, with plenty of length and power, but retaining essential Pinot succulence. This is one of the wine’s most impressive features. It is a very tasty combo of intense plum and dark berry fruits with well-handled oak providing savoury support.
