Chardonnay - Sinapius 2023 Close Planted Chardonnay

Sinapius Vineyard was established in 2005 by Linda Morice and the late Vaughn Dell at Pipers River in Tasmania's north-east. The grapes are dry grown on high density planted blocks - 7,700 – 9,615 vines per hectare - and 9 different Chardonnay clones, harvested at less than 1kg per vine. Wild ferment and maturation in large and small oak, only a small portion of which is new. 13% alc.

Michele's notes: Minerality and ocean spray salinity with overlay of honeysuckle, sweet lemons and hint of vanilla and 'lardo' from the oak. Fruit intensity in the mouth with peach and the zip of sweet, ripe lemons. Exquisite balance and essential refreshment. All class.
