Evenfall 2022/23 Chardonnay
Winery : Evenfall
Evenfall is situated on one of the oldest vineyard sites in the Tamar Valley, planted at Legana by Richard Power in the 1972. It was first known as Powercourt Vineyard, later Elmslie, and now Evenfall. This vintage, the first release under the Evenhall label, is a blend of Tamar and East Coast fruit. Liam McElhinney from Tas Vintners is the winemaker.
Michele's notes: Beautiful old gold. Complex and rich aromas of cashew, lemon curd, honeysuckle and almond meal. Satisfying volume in the mouth, without being heavy or cloying. Peach, lime pith and melon dominate and the flavours build deliciously. Acid is well in check and the finish is smoothly textured with a characteristic touch of barley sugar.
