Supply River Mill 2021 Pinot Noir
Winery : Supply River Mill
John Sumner planted 2500 Pinot Noir vines on a western slope of the Tamar River at Deviot in 2004. Today the viticulture is the handwork of his daughter Cate and son-in-law Konrad. Matthias Utzinger (Utzinger Wines) is the winemaker.
Michele's notes: An excellent Tamar vintage, a later than usual pick and the textural qualities afforded by natural ferment have created an impressive Pinot Noir. Bold ruby in hue. Intriguing aromas of blackberry, blood, stone and piquant saffron - a meld of fruit and savoury elements. Morello cherries in the mouth, plenty of zip and energy in the tension between fruit and very good oak. A stylish pinot, much more than simply sweet fruit.
