Burn Cottage 2020 Pinot Noir
Winery : Burn Cottage
Marquis & Dianne Sauvage planted their vines in 2003 at the foot of the Pisa Range in the Cromwell sub-region of Central Otago. Ted Lemon of California's Littorai provided consultancy advice with regard to site selection and biodynamic practices. Claire Mulholland is the Burn Cottage winemaker.
The original Burn Cottage Vineyard in Lowburn is a patchwork of blocks that was strategically planned out with the aim of matching clone and rootstock to soil, aspect and exposure.
Michele's notes: Deep colour. Brooding aromas of plum, tamarillo, violet, pouch tobacco, earth and thyme. A bit bolder in this vintage but it retains its essential juiciness and energy. The flavours build in the mouth and the textural sensation is very pleasing. Acid and tannins perform the perfect support roles.
