Quiet Mutiny 2023 Venus Rising Pinot Noir

Winemaker Greer Carland is the daughter of Kerry Carland of Laurel Bank, a pioneer of the Granton area of Tasmania's Derwent Valley. She has been making wine in Tasmania for over twenty years, including as Senior Winemaker with contract giant Tasmanian Vintners (the formerly named Winemaking Tasmania). Quiet Mutiny is her own project, producing wines from small parcels of premium Tasmanian fruit. In this vintage the fruit is from Coal River Valley.

Michele's notes: Deeply hued. Savoury  and fruits elements combine in an intriguing bouquet - black fruits, anise, fresh thyme and ferrous/blood/earth. Very sleek and flowing in the mouth, the acid lifts the lip-smacking fruit flavours, which are complemented by subtle char from the oak. 13.7% alc. Will be grand drinking in about 4-5 years.
