Laurel Bank 2023 Pinot Noir

Laurel Bank was established by Kerry Carland in 1986 at Granton, 20 minutes from the Hobart CBD and just north of the Bridgewater Bridge. With a northerly aspect and sloping site, this is a great place to grow pinot noir. The mature vines (nearly 40 years old) have developed substantial growth systems, the advantage being greater carbohydrate reserves in the often dry summers.

Michele's notes: Deeply hued, typical of Laurel Bank Pinots. Effusive and very enticing nose chock full of dark berry fruits/blackberry compote, with undertones of heady red roses and wet stone. The dark fruits lead tastily onto the palate, backed by anise and cocoa. There is a terrific balance of intense, ripe fruit and more savoury/dry elements.
